La Manga (UK)

La Manga is a beautiful part of Spain on the Costa Calida. La Manga is the area around the Mar Menor, a saltwater lagoon 21 km long and 10 km wide. The La Manga "strip" is the peninsula between the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor. Both sides have beautiful beaches and excellent tourist amenities - something for everyone. The shallow (no more than 10 meters deep) Mar Menor is always several degrees warmer than the Mediterranean and is a paradise for boaters of all kinds and for those who want to swim or have fun in its crystal clear waters.

The area is served by two international airports, one in Alicante (El Altet - ALC, 1 hour drive) and the other (San Javier - MJV), just 20 minutes drive. Many of the airlines and low cost combined with excellent tourist facilities make La Manga a "must visit" Spanish tourist destination.
Menor La Manga is a strip of land with white beaches, 21 km in length and average width of 300m. The strip separates the Mediterranean from the Mar Menor (the Little Sea), which is a lagoon which has an area of 170 km2 and a maximum depth of 8 meters, and is considered the largest swimming pool of the World, due as her calm and warm waters rich in salts and iodine, and maintain a temperature that is never less than 18 degrees.
